We’re recruiting a Quantity Surveyor to join our client, a medium-sized main contractor.

The role is office based with occasional site visits, responsible for 2-3 projects, reporting to the Commercial Director.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate project valuations, including adjustments for contract variations.
Deliver monthly cost value reconciliations with clear financial insights.
Develop detailed cash flow forecasts to support client budget planning.
Estimate and submit final accounts to assist clients with end-of-project financial clarity.
Demonstrate solid contractual knowledge across contract types and drawings.
Manage all contract-related documentation, including Letters of Intent.
Ensure planning conditions and warranty requirements are fully understood and met.
Collaborate on project programming to streamline procurement and reduce site delays.
Regularly review and update procurement schedules to reflect project demands.
Place timely material orders and manage labour resources efficiently.
Oversee subcontractor performance and ensure alignment with scope of works.
Conduct pre-start meetings and maintain communication throughout project stages.
Approve labour costs and ensure subcontractor payments reflect completed work quality.
Attend internal progress meetings with the Contracts Manager every two weeks.
Keep precise records of all key discussions and instructions.
Proactively assess the impact of drawing revisions and include costs in updated valuations.
Monitor potential delays and submit extension of time valuations when needed.
Raise any financial concerns promptly with the commercial director.
Promote cost-efficient site practices and approve all site labour and associated costs.
Ensure all works meet specified standards before approving subcontractor payments.
